In my opinion, Lake Forest Park is specifically suffering from growing pains or I should say lack thereof. All around us cities like Shoreline, Edmonds, Kenmore, and Bothell are growing and adapting while Lake Forest Park is slow to make changes to help it thrive. We need to zone for denser housing and allow creative ways to increase commerce. However, quite recently there has been some state mandates requiring cities to support at least two units per lot, which I fully support and I plan to work with our Park Planning Department to identify the best implementation for this.

I think every community should put effort into helping others. Although Lake Forest Park may lack space it has made meaningful steps, and I would like to make a shout out to the Rotary Club for their contributions over the years. I also support endeavors like Hopelink and North Help-Line.

We now have a complete (or nearly complete) police force, making up about 32% of our city's budget, and they have a very positive relationship with our community and great leadership. I've actually spoken with our Chief of Police and they maintain good communication with our residence and have keep a great worker retainment record. They also support mental health initiatives like the RCR (Regional Crisis Response Agency).

I briefly mentioned this in the previous answer. Lake Forest Park is part of the RCR (Regional Crisis Response Agency) which is for people experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Instead of relying solely on police or EMS, trained Mental Health Professionals (MHPs), known as Crisis Responders (CRs), are dispatched to 911 calls involving mental health crises.

My wife and I take King County Metro almost weekly and we are fortunate enough to have great access to it. I support public transit as much as possible. Recently, there is a debate going on which involves the BRT project in Lake Forest Park. I support the initiative, but I understand the costs associated with it would put our city in an even worse financial situation than it already is. I want to see if we could offset costs using state grants or something outside methods because I believe investment in public transportation is the right thing to do and construction will only get more and more expensive the longer we delay.

There is a controversial levy lift (Prop 1) on the ballot this year, which I support. If passed it would raise property taxes about 1% temporarily. Unfortunately, our city is so small and lacks in commerce considerably, so this levy lift is really the only alternative to supporting our necessary operations, community, environmental, and social programs. We still need to find long term solutions as soon as possible!

In my first, and only, experience campaigning I've been invited to several community and civic events in which all candidates were encouraged to participate. All candidates were in attendance and they were fun events, so I don't yet have any feedback until witnessing something unfair for myself or from another candidate.

I supported the Climate Commitment Act and spoke in front of our previous City Council in favor of it. I know it's been previously discussed, but it may be worth revisiting installation of EV chargers at our City Hall Building. They are currently implementing solar panels to help support our diesel generator, but our budget is low so our progress is slow. I would also like to see home owners invest in heat pumps and take advantage or solar panel initiatives.
